Mindful Steps Therapy CIC – Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing Mindful Steps Therapy CIC. This agreement explains what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Please read it before using any of our services.
1. Who We Support
1.1 We work with parents, carers, and families raising children with undiagnosed or identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
1.2 Many of the families we support come from Black, Asian, Mixed-heritage, and working-class backgrounds where cultural stigma, systemic bias, and long waiting times have created barriers to early support.
1.3 Our services are designed to make the SEN journey clearer, calmer, and more manageable. We focus on early help, emotional support, and giving you tools you can actually use.
2. What We Do
2.1 Mindful Steps Therapy CIC is a community interest company that provides
One-to-one parent consultations
Help with EHCP and SEN processes
Emotional reset support
Digital templates, trackers, and plain English guidance
2.2 We do not offer
Regulated therapy or counselling
Legal advice or tribunal representation
Emergency or crisis response
2.3 Our work is practical, supportive, and grounded in both lived experience and professional knowledge.
3. When and How We Work
3.1 Our working hours are Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4pm
3.2 You can reach us by email or phone during these hours
3.3 We aim to respond within 48 hours
3.4 If there is a safety concern, contact safeguarding or emergency services directly. We are not an emergency response team.
4. What You Are Responsible For
4.1 You decide how you use the advice we give
4.2 You are responsible for making your own decisions, submitting forms, and attending meetings
4.3 We do not take over any part of the process on your behalf
4.4 We support you but do not replace legal or medical professionals
5. Confidentiality and Safeguarding
5.1 Everything you share is treated with care
5.2 We will only share your information if
You give written permission
A child or vulnerable adult is at risk
We are required by law
5.3 We do not keep formal case files. You are responsible for saving any resources or records shared with you.
6. Resources and Downloads
6.1 Any tools, trackers, checklists, or letters you receive from us are for your personal use only
6.2 You may not copy, modify, sell, or distribute them without permission from Mindful Steps Therapy CIC
7. Respect and Communication
7.1 We understand this SEN journey can be stressful
7.2 We are here to listen, guide, and support you
7.3 We ask that you communicate respectfully
7.4 We reserve the right to end support immediately if any abuse, threats, or offensive behaviour occurs
8. Fees and Bookings
8.1 If a service requires payment, full details will be shared before you book
8.2 One free consultation is offered per household unless otherwise agreed
8.3 If you cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours’ notice
8.4 Missed appointments without notice may not be refunded
9. Limitations of Our Work
9.1 We are here to support and guide, not to diagnose, treat, or act as a legal representative
9.2 You remain in control of what steps you take
9.3 We cannot guarantee results from schools, councils, or services
10. Keeping Things Updated
10.1 We may change this agreement as our services develop
10.2 The most recent version will always be available on request or through our website or booking page
